As Vihan turned the page to Chapter 4, "Carbon and its Compounds," the metallic echo of Ayas faded, replaced by a warm, humic scent. A new figure emerged from a sketch of a diamond—a lithe, charcoal-grey character with four glowing arms. "I am Carkos," he announced, his voice like the rustle of dry leaves. "Ayas showed you the strength of metals, but I will show you the flexibility of life. I am the architect of the organic world." Vihan watched as Carkos’s four hands glowed with a steady, inviting light.

Kiran joined them, holding a small diamond and a piece of graphite. "Carbon is different, Vihan," she explained. "It doesn't like to steal or give away electrons like the metals do. It prefers to share." Carkos reached out and grasped Kiran’s hand, and between them, a pair of glowing orbs appeared. "This is a Covalent Bond," Carkos whispered. "By sharing electrons, we create connections that are as strong as a diamond yet as versatile as life itself."

"But my true power is Catenation," Carkos said, his expression becoming serious. He reached into the book and pulled out a long, shimmering string of other carbon atoms, all holding hands in an endless line. "I can link with myself to form long chains, branches, or even rings. No other element can build structures as complex as I can." The chain snaked around the room, looking like a glowing vine of pure energy.
